From Mitch Spike, Palm Springs (CA) Police Dept.

For years, my wife and I have taken time off from our jobs to "work" on cruise ships.  We were on the Celebrity Constellation from 12/27/03 until 1/17/04 in the Caribbean.  I got to spend my birthday in the Dominican Republic and was able to meet up with Major Jenny Peña (Section 5).  She and her driver/bodyguard, Orlando Frias, met us at the ship and were absolutely delightful.  They couldn't have been more gracious hosts or better representatives of their country.  We returned a week later and were able to arrange for Jenny and Orlando to meet us on board and take a tour of the ship (complete with martinis!)

A sincere and heartfelt THANK YOU to Major Peña, Sergeant Frias, and everyone else who made our visit so perfect!

Altos de Chavón is a recreated 16th century stone village built by artists, high on top of a mountain, overlooking the Chavón River. This is the spectacular 5000-seat Grecian-style amphitheater at Altos de Chavón where concerts are often held.
Jenny took us on a two-hour drive into the capital city of Santo Domingo.  In this photo, we are standing in front of the National Police Headquarters. Jenny and Orlando took me & Jill to an awesome seafood restaurant called Neptunos.  It sits on a pier near Boca Chica Beach. Jill & Jenny ready to order dinner at Neptunos.

My Mom & Dad joined us for the third week of our cruise. From left, Mom & Dad, Jenny, Orlando, me, and Jill in the martini bar aboard Celebrity Constellation.
